KILLINGTON RESORT KICKS OFF THE SUMMER SEASON WITH UNITED WAY DAY ON FRIDAY, JUNE 29

Donate $10 to the United Way of Rutland County and enjoy an afternoon of mountain biking, hiking, disc golf and K-1 Express Gondola rides

KILLINGTON, Vt. (June 11, 2012) – Vermont’s Killington Resort, a four season destination, partners with the United Way of Rutland County to kick off the summer season with a fundraiser on June 29. With a $10 donation to the United Way of Rutland County, guests will enjoy lift-served mountain biking, hiking, K-1 Express Gondola rides and the all-new 18-hole disc golf course from noon to 5:00 p.m.

“We are pleased to partner with the United Way of Rutland Country for the seventh consecutive year,” states Rob Megnin, Killington’s director of sales and marketing. “Supporting our local community is a priority for Killington Resort and we encourage our guests to donate $10 and take advantage of a day filled with summer adventures.”

In addition, Killington Resort will donate $10 from every mountain bike and disc golf season pass purchased on Friday, June 29 to the United Way of Rutland County. Killington mountain bike season passes are $159 and include unlimited access to Killington’s Kona “Groove Approved” Mountain Bike Park and disc golf season passes are only $59 offering unlimited use of the all-new mountain course.

“We really appreciate the continued support from Killington Resort and the community. This event is a really creative way to benefit locals and get involved in helping a broad spectrum of people across the community,” says Traci Moore, executive director of the Rutland County United Way. “United Way Day is a big part of our annual campaign that supports health and human service agencies throughout Rutland County,” continued Moore.

The United Way of Rutland County is celebrating its 68th year as one of 1,400 nationwide non-profit chapters dedicated to serving their communities. Last year’s summer and winter United Way Days raised more than $11,000 for the Rutland Chapter.

Killington Resort will operate 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. daily June 30-September 3, 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. September 8-30 weekends and 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. daily October 1-8 for mountain biking and hiking.

The all-new disc golf course will be open from 10:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. daily June 30-September 3, 10:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. September 8-30 weekends and 10:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. daily October 1-8.
