Free live music at the Life is good Festival, the Bear Mountain Mogul Challenge,
And Woodward Mini Camp Highlight Spring Offerings

KILLINGTON, Vt. (February 27, 2014) – Vermont’s Killington Resort, the largest ski and snowboard resort in Eastern North America, is welcoming spring with the 2014 NOR’BEASTER Spring Pass. For just $199, skiers and snowboarders of all ages can enjoy spring skiing and riding, live music and a 20% discount on lodging at Killington beginning March 15 and continuing through the end of the 2013-14 winter season.

“With the Superstar trail buried under 20 feet of natural and manmade snow, we plan to continue turning the chairlifts into May, conditions permitting,” stated Mike Solimano, president and general manager for Killington Resort. “Our goal is to again have the longest on-snow season in the East while offering an array of events ranging from live music to the triathlon.”

Soft snow, live music, abundant sunshine and events such as the famous Bear Mountain Mogul Challenge are all typical characteristics of spring at Killington, however, this year’s six-week NOR’BEASTER schedule offers a host of brand-new events highlighting everything from youth action sports progression to specialty food tastings.

NOR’BEASTER kicks off on March 15 and 16 with Slash and Berm, a banked slalom snowboard race through The Stash presented by Killington, Burton and Darkside Snowboards. The following weekend, Life is good brings its annual music festival to Killington with free live music and family-friendly events all day long on March 22 via outdoor stages at both Snowshed and Bear Mountain. Headlining acts of the Life is good Festival include Allen Stone, Assembly of Dust, Josh Panda and the Hot Damned and Booxbox, which will perform at the Wobbly Barn.

The final weekend of March brings the Woodward Mini Camp for youth ages 7-19, as well as the Ski Vermont Specialty Food Day.

Kicking off the month of April, the Bear Mountain Mogul Challenge returns April 5-6 on Outer Limits, followed by The Hibernation Park Jam in Dream Maker and the Season Passholder Appreciation Party in the K-1 Lodge on April 12.

Over the next two weeks, the infamous Pond Skimming competition on the Superstar trail, the Easter Sunrise Service and Egg Hunt, and the Meat Up barbeque event at the Roaring Brook Umbrella Bars will keep guests busy until NOR’BEASTER events wrap up in May with the May Day Slalom on May 1 and the Triathlon on May 3.

Additionally, base lodges will be featuring live music Thursday-Sunday through the end of the winter season, and the Wobbly Barn will have live entertainment Thursday-Saturday through the end of March.
