Killington Resort expands 4-day Discovery programs for the 2014-15 winter season
KILLINGTON, Vt. (July 25, 2014) – On the heels of last winter’s success with the 4-day Elan Discovery learn to ski program, Vermont’s Killington Resort, the largest ski and snowboard destination in Eastern North America, expands its learn to ski and ride offerings for the 2014-15 winter season. New for the coming season, Killington’s 4-day Discovery programs will grow to serve 700 adults; 500 with free Elan Skis and 200 with free Burton Snowboards.
Every new skier and rider begins each day with a two-hour lesson, rental equipment and a lift ticket, all for $299. Participants learn on Killington-branded Elan skis and Burton snowboards, and will receive brand new versions of their skis and boards mounted with bindings prior to completing their fourth lesson (MSRP $499).
Killington Resort will also offer a 4-day MORE Discovery program during the 2014-15 winter season for program participants seeking consecutive days of lessons paired with lodging in the Killington Grand Hotel, multiple meals and the full mountain experience.
Ministar Discovery Camps will serve children ages 4-6 with four consecutive full-day lessons, equipment, lift tickets and lunches. At the end of the program, new skiers will keep their boots and Elan Junior U-Flex skis. Plus, every Ministar Discovery Camp enrollment includes a complimentary Adult Lift Ticket to be used each day in conjunction with the program.
“We achieved our goal to transition first-time skiers into lifetime skiers with a 97% success rate last year, and we are thrilled to add a snowboarding component to the program this year,” stated Dave Beckwith, director of snow sports for Killington Resort. “Killington is partnering with the company Snow Operating, LLC to introduce a dedicated terrain-based learning area designed to give beginners the confidence they need in a new sport. This will complement our Discovery program efforts and truly enhance the first-time experience. This is the way to learn.”
Additionally, adults who take advantage of this learning opportunity will receive 50% off on lift tickets and lessons for the remainder of the 2014-15 season and all of the 2015-16 season. The four lessons do not need to be consecutive and are valid any day during the 2014-15 winter season.
Advanced reservations are recommended with a limited number of spaces available. Call 800-923-9444 to reserve a lesson or visit www.killington.com/discovery for more information. Some restrictions may apply.
