PICO MOUNTAIN PARTNERS WITH UNITED WAY FOR OPENING WEEKEND FUNDRAISER DEC. 12-14

KILLINGTON, Vt.– Pico Mountain is once again teaming up with the United Way of Rutland County to raise funds to benefit the local community on Pico’s opening weekend December 12th through the 14th.

Pico Mountain will offer guest a free Pico Card to those that donate $10 or more to the United Way of Rutland County on opening weekend. The Pico Card, which sells for $20 plus tax, offers saving of $10 per day off window ticket rates every day of the season. Donations will be accepted at the Pico Mountain ticket office throughout the weekend. In addition, Z-97.1 will broadcast live from Pico Mountain on opening day, Friday, Dec. 12 from 11 a.m. till 1 p.m.

“We are very excited to once again give back to the community through the Pico Card promotion with the United Way of Rutland County and offer our guests a great value opportunity to save money every time they ski or ride at Pico,” said Patricia Ryan, director of sales and marketing for Killington Resort and Pico Mountain.

The United Way of Rutland County is one of 1,400 United Way chapters in the United States and has assisted hundreds of local organizations through its 65-year history in the Rutland area.

“To date we have reached 60 percent of our overall fundraising goal of $610,000,” said Chuck Sharp, executive director of the United Way of Rutland County. “Pico Mountain has always been a great partner and the funds generated on opening weekend at Pico Mountain will go a long way toward reaching our goal.”

Pico Mountain opens for the 2008-09 ski and snowboard season on Dec. 12th. Lift hours at Pico Mountain are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekends and holidays. For updated mountain conditions, visit www.PicoMountain.com.
