The East’s best spring skiing destination streamlines pass products and drops prices while providing pass holder perks in all four seasons
KILLINGTON, Vt. (March 30, 2017) – Vermont’s Killington Resort, the largest ski and snowboard destination in Eastern North America, is prepared to stretch its snowpack, up to 30 feet deep in places, to Memorial Day Weekend and into June, weather dependent. Killington Resort also plans to open the Killington Golf Course, Killington Bike Park and Snowshed Adventure Center over Memorial Day Weekend, thus eliminating any semblance of an offseason at The Beast of the East.
“On March 23, we completed the final snowmaking push of the season and Superstar is buried under 25 to 30 feet of snow, so we will keep turning lifts as late into May as Mother Nature allows, and maybe even into June,” says Mike Solimano, president and general manager of Killington Resort. “It’s fitting to kick off our busiest summer ever with a weekend of skiing and snowboarding available at the same time as summer activities like lift-served mountain biking and golf, and our entire team is excited to see how long Superstar’s World Cup base and spring snow stockpile will last. We’ve made it to Memorial Day Weekend the past few years, and this spring was by far the latest that anyone here can recall making snow, so anything can happen.”
