KILLINGTON, Vt. – From rail jams, to live music and the world’s best skiers and snowboarder competing on an Olympic-sized Superpipe, Vermont’s Killington Resort will host dozens of on-snow events this season to thrill, enlighten and entertain competitors and spectators alike.

Highlights on the event’s schedule include the Winter Dew Tour Jan. 20-23 and Snoe.down returning March 25-27. The Winter Dew Tour will showcase the top winter athletes from around the world competing in freeskiing (Slopestyle and Superpipe) and snowboarding (Slopestyle and Superpipe) at Bear Mountain.

“The Winter Dew Tour has established itself as one of the premier winter events out there, and we are pleased to have been asked to host this world-class event for these outstanding athletes to showcase their talents,” said Killington’s President and General Manager Chris Nyberg. Winter Dew Tour General Manager, Chris Prybylo added, “We’re looking forward to a successful event on all levels. It’s a great mountain, a great town and we’ll have elite competition venues featuring their new 22-foot Superpipe.”

 Killington Resort’s on-mountain events for the 2010-11 season include the following:

Loaded Turkey Rail Jam – November 21
This year, we’re kicking off the season with the Loaded Turkey rail jam, Thanksgiving style! That’s right, with a turkey as the grand prize along with all the fixings for second and third place winners.

Rails 2 Riches Rail Jam – December 11
For the sixth consecutive year, Rails 2 Riches rail jam returns to Killington with skiers and snowboarders battling it out for a share of the $15,000 cash purse. Slide the rails or come watch the elite as they compete under the lights and warm up by our winter bonfire.

K-Town Showdown Series – Dec. 18, Jan. 15, Feb. 19, Mar. 26
This year, the K-Town Showdown Series presented by Monster Energy will feature four events, including rail jams and a slopestyle, open to both skiers and riders of all ages. Competitors will battle for sweet prizes and bragging rights. Showdown dates are Dec. 18, Jan. 15, Feb. 19, and March 26.

Under Armour 3rd Rail Jam – January 1
The best way to kick off 2011 is with a rail jam! The Under Armour 3rd Rail Jam showcases some of the best amateur skiers and riders with a winner-takes-all format. Plus, this event will feature MC battles, hip hop music and live performances throughout an eight resort nation-wide tour.

Collegiate Snowfest and Winter Games – January 2-14, January 4-7
Join college students from around the country as we kick off our two week-long Collegiate Snowfest with the Collegiate Winter Games. If you’ve got what it takes to rep your school, your team can compete in a series of three free events including Mountain Ops, King of the Mountain and Cardboard Derby. Collegiate Snowfest will be filled with nightly off-hill activities and parties for college students!

Winter Dew Tour – January 20-23
Killington Resort will host the second of three stops for the Winter Dew Tour, January 20-23, 2011. Entering its third season, the top athletes in the world will take part in the 2010-11 Winter Dew Tour, all competing for the highly coveted Dew Cup that will be awarded at the Toyota Championship at Snowbasin Resort.

Gatorade Free Flow Tour – January 29-30
The Gatorade Free Flow Tour, The National that gives amateur skiers and riders a chance to compete for top prize in Killington’s Dream Maker terrain park and 22-foot high Superpipe. As the official amateur series of the Winter Dew Tour, Gatorade Free Flow Tour offers winners from each event all expense-paid trips to the Tour Finals in February.

Burton Stash Gathering – March 19
The best free riders in the east and beyond will gather at Killington's Stash to take advantage of the natural terrain and all the creative elements the mountain has to offer. If your idea of a perfect day involves picking the most jibbable treeline, and knocking fresh powder off a cabin roof, you’ll need to join us at the Stash Gathering at Bear Mountain. Registration will be open to snowboarders only.

Snoe.down – March 25-27
Snoe.down 2011, the all-ages Winter Music & Sports Festival hosted by moe. returns to central Vermont with performances in the Killington and Rutland region. In addition to multiple moe. sets, Snoe.down 2011 will feature musical performances by a variety of bands.

Bud Light Bear Mountain Mogul Challenge – April 2-3
The annual Bear Mountain Mogul Challenge competition heats up on Saturday as 200 amateur bumpers take to the slopes of Outer Limits to battle it out for top honors. The top 32 men and 16 women will return to compete in a head-to-head competition on Sunday. Participants run a dual course with sudden death format; only the winners advance.

Sunshine Daydream Ski and Music Festival – April 16
Listen to a great lineup of Dead-inspired tunes, rock a tie-dye and check out Shakedown Street as you groove to the live music. The all-ages Sunshine Daydream Festival is free of charge with bands performing live on the outdoor stage rain or shine.

Pond Skimming – April 23
A wacky right of spring! Skim the pond or watch while others try. Prizes awarded for best skim, best splash, best costume and the special judge’s award.
