Nor’beaster kicked off over the weekend with the Second Annual Slash and Berm Banked Slalom. The banked slalom is a benefit event for the Molly Fund, held at The Stash terrain park to bring the snowboarding community together. A top-to-bottom course through the terrain park incorporates natural wooden features and wooded areas.

It is hard to believe that the East coast has the best snow in the entire country. Luckily we skipped our usual "January thaw," and instead had consistent cold, including the coldest February on record (average of 5 degrees). The very cold weather was great for snow preservation and we have the best snow coverage I have seen in a long time, so I’m expecting a great rest of the season.

Back in the day, learning to ski was for the fearless. You pointed your tips downhill and hoped you’d listened when the instructor explained how to stop. Now, a new teaching style called “terrain-based learning” makes the process much more fun and a lot less scary.

The interwebs have been buzzing about Novel Nibble’s take on ski resort slogans, and we have to give Becky props – her post is pretty hilarious. Take it from Killington, Boston’s best bar! To get in the spirit of things we took a (self-deprecating) look at our trail names, and “honest” alternatives we could consider.
