Posted by The Beast on June 29, 2016
Independence - we all enjoy it, and what better place to celebrate than the Heart of the Green Mountains in Killington, Vermont? This weekend The Beast is loaded with cool events, new foods to try, and hot new attractions - you should be here.
Put on your race face.
It's not too late to register for the Vittoria Eastern States Cup East Coast Showdown #2. Whether your specialty is Downhill or Enduro, you can push yourself and your bike to the limit on Killington's signature aggressive race courses.
Check out the maps and visit our website for the full schedule. Volunteers are still needed - email firstname.lastname@example.org to be a course marshall and get the closest view of the course without handlebars!
Downhill: July 2, 2016
Enduro: July 3, 2016
The Snowshed Adventure Center continues to grow, and this weekend we're unveiling two HUGE additions. Test your nerves by stepping off the 30' Skye Jump tower, or take a cruise on the Skye Line zip from Snowshed all the way across Snowshed Pond.
Summer Supper for Sure!
Thanks to extended lift hours this summer, you can take in an early dinner at the Peak Lodge, featuring a fresh menu of revolving entrees and sides.
Keep it Classical.
Killington Music Festival's 34th season is underway, with performances every Saturday. Expose yourself and your kids to some culture while you kick back in the mountains.
Nine and Wine!
Mondays this summer are all about the ladies at the Killington Golf Course. Grab the girls and enjoy 9 holes on the course followed by wine and good company at Preston's. Here's the deal.
Fireworks, fireworks, fireworks.
Each night of the weekend and all around the area. Here's the skinny:
- Saturday, July 2: VT State Fairgrounds, Rutland. Enjoy a fireworks extravaganza in the heart of downtown Rutland!
- Sunday, July 3: Summit Pond, Killington. Catch the show from the waterside deck of the Foundry or from free outdoor seating at the new Mad Hatter's Scoops with a tasty cone.
- Monday, July 4: River Road, Killington. It's a full day of festivities in downtown Killington with BBQ, a parade and of course fireworks to cap off the night.
Plan ahead and save!
The summer is getting into full swing, so plan your weekends accordingly. Dirty Girl Mud Run returns on July 9 - save 20% on registration when you use code KTONDG20 to sign up and don't forget about the Clean Guy Golf Tournament for the fellas in your crew.
See you on the mountain!
