Bashing Bumps :: Olympian Donna Weinbrecht Talks Gold Medals and Girls' Weekends
Posted January 22, 2014
We're counting down to Sochi here at the Beast, and no one is more excited than our resident gold medalist, Donna Weinbrecht. She's all nostalgia and bringing both stories of The Games and her Olympic medal (the first gold awarded for bashing bumps, ever!) to share with some very lucky ladies at her custom camp this weekend.
Donna's a busy lady (you don't win every accolade in your sport by sitting around), and we got a chance to catch up with her to get the inside scoop on what to expect. "I'm really looking forward to this weekend with the ladies," she says. "It's always a great time making some sweet turns, laughing and of course Saturday's night ride to the Yurt for a super dinner is a treat in itself."
The weekend's designed just for the girls from start to finish. Featuring the highest level of instruction from Donna and a team of top female coaches, it's all about on-snow skills, a comfortable environment, and good times. The whole group will even take a dining adventure to the Ledgewood Yurt for a five course meal and a sleigh ride under the stars.
One lucky lady will walk away with a brand new pair of Chick-a-dee skis from Ramp - that's Donna's ski of choice, and she's psyched about it, to say the least. In fact, she'll be skiing hers all this week, checking out where the best terrain is going to be and warming up her legs for the weekend.
"Come join us," she said. "It's a weekend to remember."
