Mike's News: Scanning, TV and the Peak's Progress
Posted December 5, 2013
We've got some brief updates from The Beast that just might help with your holiday planning. We're always looking to improve our guest experience and make your time on the mountain more memorable; have a look for yourself.
We Scan, You Win
We all know it can be a pain to have to pull your pass out to be scanned by the ticket checkers but it is something we need to do to protect our business. So our team thought about what we could do to make it less onerous on our guests – how about giving prizes to random guests when they're scanned?
That sounded like fun, so we resurrected “We Scan, You Win” from several years ago, but changed it up a little. We will randomly select guests that are scanned to earn Beast Bucks and other prizes during the season.
What do you need to do? Nothing (pretty easy, right?) – just be friendly and cooperative to the ticket checker and let them scan your pass. We will do the rest. Prizes await you…
Thanks for your help – after all the public support and meeting with TV14 and Comcast, we were able to work out a deal that allows TV14 to come back on the air. We know that our guests use this tool as a daily source for information about the hill, and it's important to us that it's available to you.
Peak Lodge Construction Update
We are currently working on many of the final details of the lodge. You may have noticed the concrete structure leading down to the building and wondering what this is – it is the frame for a metal staircase (similar to the one by the Umbrella Bars) as well as an outdoor elevator for disabled guests. We're still on target for late December's opening, but please stay tuned for official word. Wrapping up a big construction project can be pretty intense, and add to it the elevation and weather elements... it's pretty amazing what's going on.
As always, feel free to get in touch with your questions and comments at firstname.lastname@example.org. We'll see you on the hill.
