Q & A :: MOUNTAIN BIKING AT THE BEAST

No one knows The Beast better than the staff at the Killington Bike Shop. We caught up with Ben for a few insider tips on making the most of the trails.

Check it out.

What's your favorite trail off the top?
Trail 18, Cable Trail, is our new-school freeride trail. Accessed from Trail 2 on the south side of Killington Peak, advanced riders will find jumps, berms, and killer flow.

What trails do you recommend for beginners?
One of our new beginner trails on Snowshed Slope is Trail 19, Witts Wiggle. It offers flow through the woods and is a great learning trail as well as a fun one for experts to rip down. The Snowshed Express Quad runs every weekend so you can lap Trail 19 and the other lower trails without having to climb.

Anything new on the North Side of the mountain?
New work has been done on Trail 13 on Snowdon Mountain with some huge berms and some fun features to try.

Can we expect any other new trails to open this season?
Our trail crew is always working and they are splitting their focus between the upper mountain and our Snowshed expansion. Our expert downhill Trail 33, Yo Vinny, which has been closed for three years or so, will be open this week off of Skye Peak with a whole new exit.

Anything else?
On top of all that we are going to continue the flow of Trail 26 from the middle of Snowshed and extend it all the way to the bottom. You really have to check out the new dirt!
