Snow Whale Warning in full effect
Posted January 24, 2013
There's no mistaking the chill in the air - it's full-on winter at Killington! Mother Nature has kept the temperatures low, okay, really low for the past week, which is fantastic when it comes to snowmaking. The guns have been blasting across Killington’s peaks and we’re officially in a “snow whale warning”!
Are you in search of the snow whales? Well, they can be found on some of your favorite trails like the massive ones on Superstar, Upper Skyelark, Mouse Trap, Snowshed Slope and Dream Maker. Here’s a sneak peak of why we’re making so much snow: we’re building base on our signature spring trails: Superstar, Skyelark and Bittersweet, and our Park Crew will begin to build the Dream Maker Terrain Park at Bear and a Boardercross Course on Snowshed Slope for the upcoming USSA Hole Shot Tour, Feb. 5-6.
Not only does Killington have the most open terrain in Vermont for all ability levels, we have tons of features for park riders to hit in four parks – yes four parks! Upper Dream Maker will debut Sunday, plus The Stash, Timberline and Easy Street Progression Parks are open, too. And let’s not forget the 200-foot long Minipipe in Timberline.
This weekend's got the goods with ski clinics with the pros, free lift ticket with every helmet purchased at any Killington Sports location, K-town Showdown rail jam and base lodge bands to warm you up afterwards. Get after the Conditions Report for the latest updates.
