Secret Stash :: Pico Mountain Brings The Snow
Posted by Pico Mountain on December 17, 2014
It's always nice to put your best foot forward to start a new season, but Pico Mountain kicked things off with two best feet - of fresh, natural snow, that is. Everyone from Director Tracy Taylor to our friends at the local food shelf got to share in the pre-holiday joy. The season is certainly looking bright.
Check out our favorite moments from an opening weekend to remember.
1. We'll start with the base-ics.
Thanks to Winter Storm Damon, our little slice of heaven was snowier and more peaceful than a Christmas card.
2. Soft turns, top to bottom.
The Summit Express celebrated its first day of the season with a fresh coat of snow, and we can't complain about that.
3. Sharing is caring.
It's hard to describe how lucky - and thankful - we were for Mother Nature's gift. There was nothing to do but share the plenty - $25 lift tickets to skiers and riders, and food to our friends at BROC seemed like the right choice.
4. Thankful, thankful, thankful.
Our skiers and riders CAN't be stopped - with the promise of powder and plenty of food, there's no better way to start your day.
5. A real skier's mountain.
As skiers and riders arrived, Director of Mountain Operations Jeff Temple hit the hill to make sure the trails were in tip-top shape.
6. The family that plays together, stays together.
Skiers and riders of all ages and ability levels found fresh turns all weekend long.
7. That quiet pow(d)er.
Pico's Director, Tracy Taylor, shared this glimpse of our winter wonderland dressed all in white.
8. Was that a snowmaker?
While we pride ourselves on natural snow, the Pico hill crew can't be stopped - they worked hard for opening (even with Ma Nature's help!) and they're still at it - you can expect more from them for the holidays as the temperatures drop.
9. Sweet, sweet success.
We didn't just take away soft, soft turns and beautiful views - Pico skiers and riders donated nearly 2,000 cans to feed hungry Vermonters. And that's just in exchange for tickets; many gave extra, just to be kind.
10. Ski you soon.
Starting December 18, we'll be open every day through January for the holidays. So take a train, plane, car or bus and come see us already!
