Killington’s annual extreme obstacle course competition weekend just got more intense. Think fire jumping, spear throwing, ropes climbing, trail running and then throw in Reebok Spartan Race Athletes, Olympians along with amateur athletes, all competing for a piece of the $250,000 cash and prizes. Are you up for the challenges?
Competitors can choose to race in the Ultra Beast Race, 21+ miles, the Beast Race, 12+ miles or the 3.5+ mile sprint. Additionally, young Spartans are invited to race the Spartan Kids Races.

THE SPARTAN BEAST OBSTACLE COURSE RACE INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:
- 3.5+ miles
- 13+ miles battlefield of insane mud running
- 21+ miles obstacles to test your physical strength and mental resolve
- Each adult race will feature 1-2 water crossings or obstacles on the course that racers must navigate. Athletes that cannot swim will be given personal floatation decides (PFDs).
- ½ mile and 1 mile Spartan Kids Races
If you’re in over your head, a dignified exit of the race is available at mile 3. Racers will need to choose between relaxation or the challenging race obstacle course. What will you choose?
RACE START TIME
Starting at 8:00 am, waves of 200 competitors will be released every 15 minutes across 5 groups (Elite, Confirmed, Morning, Afternoon, Late Afternoon). Competitors will discover their exact starting time by visiting SpartanRace.com a few days before the race.
ALL RACERS WILL RECEIVE
- Finishers Medal
- Free beer ticket for anyone 21 and over
- Access to a Rockin’ festival area
- Tired legs from climbing up and down the mountain
- Wet and muddy clothes
- Beast bragging rights
Due to the difficult of this race course, 5 water stations have been added throughout the course.
*It will NOT be mandatory for Elite Male and Female Beast Racers to carry a hydration pack.
*Hydration packs ARE still mandatory for all other racers. It is highly recommended to also have some calories with you on the course.
There will be a designated cut off time; it will be available closer to the race. All competitors are required to stop by the check points before the designated cut off time. If they do not reach the check point on time, they will be removed for their own safety.
SPARTAN KIDS RACE
Kids ages 4-9 are encouraged to run the Junior Varsity Spartan Race, ½ mile and ages 10-13 can test out their endurance in the Varsity Spartan Race, 1 mile. All kid competitors will receive a t-shirt and finisher’s medal. Additionally, 100% of the Spartan Kids Race proceeds benefit the Kids Fit Foundation.
Spartan Kids’ heats go off between 10:30 am – 2:30 pm
Registration closes September 17th, 2014. Entry fees vary by registration date and class. Military and First Responders receive a $30 discount and students receive a $10 discount during registration.

Want a front row seat to all the Spartan action? All spectators must have a spectator ticket to access the races. Pre-purchased tickets are available online for $20 and $25 on-site – cash only. Spartan Race spectators will receive $5 Spartan bucks redeemable at the merchandise tent, entry to the festival area, a festival map, access to some of the obstacles on course, not to mention the epic Gladiator Pit and finish line. Enjoy music and watch your friends and loved ones slip and slide through the Spartan course in the relative safety and comfort of the Spartan Race festival grounds! You can also test your fitness in our festival challenges including the Pull-Up Challenge, Slosh Pipe Challenge, Kaiser Challenge and Traverse Wall Challenge.
