Septemberfest

BBQ, games, beer, live music and of course, fall foliage, a perfect September day. Come enjoy all this and more during Septemberfest at Pico Mountain.

We’ll have activities for all ages including a Diaper Derby, Pumpkin Carving Contest, Haystack Treasure Hunt, Scarecrow Making Contest and more. Plus, Long Trail Brewery will be pouring their tasty, local craft beers while you listen to live music from Rick Reddington & The Luv.

Additionally, we’ll be giving away tons of sweet prizes in a raffle to benefit the Vermont Achievement Center. Looking for a great deal? Be sure to check out the annual ski swap hosted by the Pico Ski Club. Bring your family, bring your friends and join us as we celebrate fall and get excited for winter.

Septemberfest Activity Details:

Diaper Derby

Ages: 36 months & under

A fun race for crawlers and toddlers. Prizes for first and second place winners in three divisions (Crawlers, 1-12 months; Toddlers 13-24 months; Tykes 25-36 months)

Pumpkin Carving Contest

All Ages

Bring your own pumpkin or buy one for $5 at the pumpkin table. Limited carving supplies are available. The judges will crown the best in each category. Prizes for first, second and third place.

Rules:
Pumpkins must be carved at Pico on the day of the contest. Must be ready for judging by 3:00 p.m.

Haystack Treasure Hunt

Ages: 10 & under

Kids will have a blast finding the hidden toys and candy buried in a haystack. Each child will have one minute to find a handful of treasures to take home.

Scarecrow Making Contest

All Ages
Bring your old clothes, hat, and a pair of pantyhose for the head. We supply the hay, string and directions. Prizes for first, second and third place.

Rules:
Scarecrows must be made at Pico on the day of the contest. Must be ready for judging by 3:00 p.m. Scarecrows will be judged on total visual impact, originality, theme presentation and quality of workmanship. Scarecrow can be an individual or group effort.

Raffle to benefit the Vermont Achievement Center

Purchase a $5 raffle ticket and enter to win some great prizes! Winners will be selected every 30 minutes with the Grand Prize drawing happening at 5:00 p.m. Prizes include skis, snowboard, boots, t-shirts and other sweet product! All proceeds will benefit the VAC.

Vermont Achievement Center, Inc., a 501(c) 3 charitable organization, has been serving children and families throughout the Rutland region and Vermont since 1937. VAC continues to offer innovative and responsive programs in special education, child care, early education, family social services and intervention, water safety and therapy, and so much more. The programs provided by the Vermont Achievement Center will touch more than 7,000 children and families this year.
