Ilo Ferreira, a protégé of Jimmy Buffett and Barefoot Truth
Ilo Africano Querido Varela Ferreira was born on July 1, 1979 in Mindelo city, São Vicente Island, Cape Verde, 500 miles away from Africa’s west coast. In January 2007, on his way to Timbuktu, Jimmy Buffett stopped by CV to refuel his plane and hoping to meet Cesária Évora, and in that process Ilo got the chance to meet him.
At the time he had no idea who Jimmy Buffet was and how big he was in country music. But he knew a song he learned to sing when he didn’t understand a word he was singing about. A song written by Jimmy Buffett and Mike Utley, “La Vie Danssante”. It took a few months, until Ilo knew that Jimmy had co-written the song. Although the strong capeverdean music influence surrounding him during his childhood he also grew up listening to rock n’ roll, country and world music. As a singer/songwriter, Ilo tends to line up with pop rock, and country music styles. Today he’s on the road with his American band and playing with Jimmy on his tour as special guest.
Barefoot Truth
Barefoot Truth, from Mystic, Connecticut, is an independent band that is quietly creating history. You have never seen them on MTV, nor heard them on a Top 40 FM radio station, but with over seven million spins on Pandora, Barefoot Truth has quickly become a symbol of independent music success. Mixing the sounds of folk, rock, jazz, and reggae, with lyrics full of unbridled optimism, the band has crafted a sound that is distinctly Barefoot Truth.

Badfish, Sublime Tribute Band
The phenomenon known as Sublime, arguably the most energetic, original and uniquely eclectic band to emerge from any scene, anywhere, ended with the untimely death of lead singer, guitarist and songwriter Brad Nowell in May of 1996. But encompassing the sense of place and purpose long associated with Sublime’s music, Badfish, a Tribute to Sublime continues to channel the spirit of Sublime with a fury not felt for some time.
What separates Badfish from other tribute bands is that they have replicated Sublime’s essence, developing a scene and dedicated following most commonly reserved for label-driven, mainstream acts. Badfish makes their mark on the audience by playing with the spirit of Sublime. They perform not as Sublime would have, or did, but as Badfish does.

Twiddle
Twiddle, a Vermont-based quartet, spins tall-tales over an intricate soundscape of Hi-def shred. They have started a frenzy on both coasts, composing complex arrangements that conjure up Coltrane, Ranglin and Zappa. Obliterating the laws of improvisation, Twiddle delivers spectacular climaxes, defiantly weaves through genres, and never fails to leave a crowd lusting for more. It is three-dimensional music. You can see it from all sides, and even serve it to your guests. It's Twiddle.

Dirty Dozen Brass Band
In 1977, the Dirty Dozen Social and Pleasure Club in New Orleans began showcasing a traditional Crescent City brass band. It was a joining of two proud, but antiquated, traditions at the time: social and pleasure clubs dated back over a century to a time when black southerners could rarely afford life insurance, and the clubs would provide proper funeral arrangements.
Brass bands, early predecessors of jazz as we know it, would often follow the funeral procession playing somber dirges, then once the family of the deceased was out of earshot, burst into jubilant dance tunes as casual onlookers danced in the streets. By the late '70s, few of either existed.
The Dirty Dozen Social and Pleasure Club decided to assemble this group as a house band, and over the course of these early gigs, the seven-member ensemble adopted the venue's name: the Dirty Dozen Brass Band.
Thirty years later, the Dirty Dozen Brass Band is a world famous music machine, whose name is synonymous with genre-bending romps and high-octane performances. They have revitalized the brass band in New Orleans and around the world, progressing from local parties, clubs, baseball games and festivals in their early years to touring nearly constantly in the U.S. and in over 30 other countries on five continents. The Dirty Dozen have been featured guests on albums by artists including David Bowie, Elvis Costello, Dr. John and the Black Crowes.

Sister Hazel
Their name comes from Sister Hazel Williams, a local nun who ran who ran Sister Hazel's Rescue Mission in Gainesville, Florida during the 1970s and early ‘80s. The facility gave those who were down on their luck a safe place to stay warm, eat and regroup, regardless of age, race or beliefs; it is in this spirit of unconditional concern for all beings that the band chose to use her name.
With six top-30 hits to their credit, including Your Winter, Change Your Mind and All for You, Sister Hazel’s Southern-style rock sound is characterized by highly melodic tunes and optimistic lyrics with a decidedly fresh, invigorating style.
