Spartan Races are taking over Killington for the weekend! Competitors of all ages will test their endurance in the Beast Race, Ultra Beast Marathon and Children’s Event. Step up and get out of your comfort zone, many will arrive, but few will leave!

Spartan Beast Race
This timed, 10-12+ mile course will take racers around the mountain where they will face military-style obstacles along the way, including an eight foot wall, slippery incline wall, cargo net climb, barbed wire crawl, water obstacles, mud crawl, spear throw, fire jump and gladiator pit.
Registration
Entry fee starts at $110 and increases as you get closer to race-day and includes a meal, t-shirt and finishers medal. Registration closes on September 19, 2012. Armed forces/students receive a $10 discount at the end of registration.
The competitive heat that includes a 9:00 a.m. start time, chip timing, and world ranking is an additional $10. This race is only open to athletes ages 14 and older.
Course Description
The Spartan Beast obstacle course race includes the following:
- 10+ mile battlefield of insane mud running
- 15+ obstacles to test your physical strength and mental resolve
This mixed terrain run of an endurance race will have many trials to push you to your full potential. The good news is that after you complete your painful journey, there will be live entertainment and a catered meal to soothe your aching joints.
The top three male and female finishers will qualify for free entry into the 2013 Spartan Death Race.
Please Note
If you are unsure as to if you can do The Beast, we are allowing you a 'dignified exit' if you need it at mile three. This will also serve as the ultimate test of resolve for those who plan on doing the full event. You are welcome to plan on only doing the three mile section of the course, but the price remains the same and you will not receive official time or medal.
Spartan Ultra Beast Marathon
The first of its kind, the Ultra Beast will be the world's first marathon distance (roughly 26.2 miles) obstacle race. There will only be one heat and the course will feature two loops of the main Beast course at a distance of roughly 26.2 miles. It's not for the faint of heart!
Registration
Entry fee starts at $165 and increases as you get closer to race-day and includes a meal, Ultra Beast t-shirt and Ultra Beast finishers medal. For your own safety and for the competitive nature of the event, you will have to apply for acceptance in the Ultra Beast Marathon.
If you are interested in participating, send an email with your race resume and three sentences about why you want to take on the Ultra Beast Marathon to ultrabeast@spartanrace.com. Upon acceptance, selected participants will be notified by email and given further details and registration instructions by Spartan Race.
Spartan Children's Event
Spartan Race is not only limited to adult fun! Bring the kids who can participate in their very own Spartan race. They will enjoy the thrill of the run, a variety of scaled down obstacles and their own mini-festival area filled with games and children's challenges! Our mission is to inspire children to develop a love for fitness at an early age.
The course is about a 1⁄2 mile filled with junior obstacles for children 4-9 and 1 mile for kids 10-13. Each child will receive a t-shirt and finisher's medal with 100% of the Jr. Spartan Adventure proceeds benefiting the Kids Fit Foundation.
About Kids Fit Foundation
As a leader in the movement to help children learn life-long health and fitness habits, the Kids Fit Foundation strives to raise awareness and develop programs that educate, empower and inspire kids to become and stay fit.
Registration
The cost is only $25 and all proceeds will go to Kids Fit Foundation. Registration closes September 19, 2012.
General Information
Parking
A $10 per car parking fee will be applied to all vehicles. Cash only.
Spectators
Spectator tickets are $15 and will be sold onsite (please bring cash, limited credit card services are available). As a Spartan Race spectator, you will receive $5 Spartan bucks redeemable at the merchandise tent, a festival map and access to some obstacles on the course, the epic Gladiator pit and finish line and the vendor tents. Children age 14 and under are free.
