Spartan Beast Race
The Spartan Race is taking over Killington for the weekend! Competitors of all ages will test their endurance in the Beast Race and Spartan Kids Race. Step up and get out of your comfort zone, many will arrive, but few will leave!
This timed, 13+ mile course will take racers around the mountain where they will face military-style obstacles along the way, including a slippery incline wall, cargo net climb, barbed wire crawl, water obstacles, mud crawl, spear throw, fire jump and gladiator pit.

Course Description
The Spartan Beast obstacle course race includes the following:
- 13+ mile battlefield of insane mud running
- 15+ obstacles to test your physical strength and mental resolve
- 1-2 water crossings or obstacles on the course that racers must navigate. Athletes that cannot swim will be given personal flotation devices (PFDs).
This mixed terrain run of an endurance race will have many trials to push you to your full potential. The fastest time should be around 180 minutes. Those who can climb well will be rewarded.
If you are unsure as to if you can do the full race we are allowinga 'dignified exit' if needed at mile 3. This will also serve as the ultimate test of resolve for those who plan on doing the full event. Each racer will have to confront choice between luxury and relaxation or facing 9 more miles of The Beast. You are welcome to plan on only doing 3 mile section of course but price remains the same and you will not receive official time or medal.
Race Start Times
Starting at 8am, waves of 200 athletes will be released every 15 minutes across 5 groups (Elite, Confirmed, Morning, Afternoon, Late Afternoon). YOUR exact start time in the group you registered for will be posted on the Spartan Race website a couple of days prior to the event.
Spartan Kids Race
Spartan Race is not only limited to adult fun! Bring the kids who can participate in their very own Spartan race. They will enjoy the thrill of the run, a variety of scaled down obstacles and their own mini-festival area filled with games and children's challenges! Our mission is to inspire children to develop a love for fitness at an early age.
The course is about a 1⁄2 mile filled with junior obstacles for children 4-9 and 1 mile for kids 10-13. Each child will receive a t-shirt and finisher's medal with 100% of the Spartan Kids Race proceeds benefiting the Kids Fit Foundation.
Spartan Kids’ heats go off between 12:00-1:00 p.m.
Parking
A $10 per car parking fee will be charged to all vehicles. Cash only.
Spectator Tickets
Want a front row seat to all the Spartan action? Spectator tickets are available online for $20, or purchase them on-site for $25 (cash only). As a Spartan Race spectator, you'll receive $5 Spartan bucks redeemable at the merchandise tent, entry to the rocking festival area, a festival map, access to some of the obstacles on course, not to mention the epic Gladiator pit and finish line. Enjoy music and watch your friends and loved ones slip and slide through the Spartan course in the relative safety and comfort of the Spartan Race festival grounds! You can also test your fitness in our festival challenges including the Pull-Up Challenge, Slosh Pipe Challenge, Kaiser Challenge and Traverse Wall Challenge. Beware, the next ticket you'll want to buy might have you standing on the Spartan starting line!
Registration
Registration closes September 18, 2013. Entry fees vary by registration date and class. All racers will be required to have a water source on them at the start line. Armed forces/students receive a $10 discount at the end of registration.
