2013 Reebok Spartan Race World Championships

Killington’s annual extreme obstacle course competition weekend just got more intense. Think fire jumping, spear throwing, ropes climbing, trail running and then throw in Rebook Spartan Race Athletes, Olympians along with amateur athletes, all competing for a piece of the $250,000 cash and prizes. Are you up for the challenge?

Competitors can choose to race in the Ultra Beast Race, 21+ miles, the Beast Race, 12+ miles or the all-new 3.5+ mile sprint. Additionally, young Spartans are invited to race the Spartan Kids Races.

September 21-22, 2013

The Spartan Beast obstacle course race includes the following:

  • 3.5+ miles
  • 12+ miles battlefield of insane mud running
  • 21+ miles obstacles to test your physical strength and mental resolve
  • Plus each adult race will feature 1-2 water crossings or obstacles on the course that racers must navigate. Athletes that cannot swim will be given personal flotation devices (PFDs).
  • ½ mile and 1 mile Spartan Kids Races

Details

If you’re in over your head, a dignified exit of the race is available at mile 3. Racers will need to choose between relaxation or the challenging race obstacle course. What will you choose?

Race Start Times

Starting at 8:00 a.m., waves of 200 competitors will take off every 15 minutes in the following categories: Elite, Confirmed, Morning, Afternoon, Late Afternoon. Competitors will discover their exact starting time by visiting SpartanRace.com a couple days before the race.

All racers will receive

  • Tired legs from climbing up and down the mountain
  • Wet and muddy clothes
  • Beast bragging rights

Aid Stations

All racers are self-supported and are required to have a water source on them at the start line of the race. Bringing calories is highly recommended as well. There is only one water station.

Dark Zones

There will be a designated cut off time; it will be available closer to the race. All competitors are required to stop by the check points before the designated cut off time. If they do not reach the check point on time, they will be removed for their own safety.

Spartan Kids Race

Kids ages 4-9 are encouraged to run the Jr. Spartan Race, ½ mile and ages 10-13 can test out their endurance in the Varsity Spartan Race, 1 mile. All kid competitors will receive a t-shirt and finisher’s medal. Additionally, 100% of the Spartan Kids Race proceeds benefiting the Kids Fit Foundation.

Spartan Kids’ heats go off between 12:00-1:00 p.m.

Registration closes September 18, 2013. Entry fees vary by registration date and class. Armed forces/students receive a $10 discount at the end of registration.

Spectator Tickets

Come and support the athletes, all spectators must have a spectator ticket to access the races. Pre-purchased tickets are $20 and $25 on site – cash only. Spartan Race spectators will receive $5 Spartan bucks redeemable at the merchandise tent, entry to the festival area, a festival map, access to some of the obstacles on course, not to mention the epic Gladiator Pit and finish line.
