Killington Music Festival

Music in the Mountains Series - a weekly concert series featuring world-renown musicians.

 Now in its 26th season, the Killington Music Festival is the only resident professional classical music organization in central Vermont.  Performances by the faculty and invited guest artists have made the festival a mainstay of summer culture in the Killington Region. Artistic Director and cellist Allison Eldredge has been soloist with the New York Philharmonic, Royal Philharmonic, and Boston Pops to name a few, and is a member of the Boston Trio. 

Concerts take place at Ramshead Lodge at Killington Resort, Saturdays at 7:00 p.m. June 28 - August 9, 2008.

Outdoor Wilderness Leadership School

The Organizational Wide Leadership Solutions, Inc. (OWLS) is now offering, world-class experiential education program opportunities for guests and clients of Killington Resort. Focused on learning, managing change, teaming skills, communication, and fun. Groups of all sizes can participate in low initiative course simulations, portable ropes challenge course events, or adventure based recreational activities. The activities provide practical tools that focus on individual and team performance. Participants are challenged to continuously improve and produce new and powerful results in an environment that's supportive, physically and emotionally safe, and gives each individual the choice as to how they participate.

Killington Resort is collaborating with OWLS  to provide these professional, experiential programs and opportunities for our guests. Vermont's Premier Balloon Festival
The highways, byways, hills and valleys of this small Vermont village, home of Quechee Gorge, Vermont's answer to the Grand Canyon, will fill with over 20 hot air balloons. The Festival's sponsor, the Hartford Area Chamber of Commerce, will be rolling out a special red carpet on Father's Day Weekend, June 13, 14, and 15, 2008, as the Festival marks its 29th anniversary.

Appalachian Trail

The Trail approaches treeline at Killington and Stratton mountains, and parts feature strenuous ascents. But, in general, Vermont hiking crosses varied terrain, at lower to mid-range elevations with a fair amount of elevation gain and loss. It passes through forests of paper birch and white pine, wooded mountains, and farm valleys.

Long Trail

Built by the Green Mountain Club between 1910 and 1930, the Long Trail is the oldest long-distance trail in the United States. The Long Trail follows the main ridge of the Green Mountains from the Massachusetts-Vermont line to the Canadian border as it crosses Vermont's highest peaks.

The Stockbridge Yacht Club

The Stockbridge Yacht Club has the finest tubing on the white river. Affectionately know as the tubing capital of Vermont. Call 802-746-8106 for reservations and river conditions. Open Mid June to Labor Day.

VINS Nature Center

Tour through the VINS exhibits and outdoor enclosures and visit our rehabilitated birds of prey. Find out the story of the 22 resident raptors from the Snowy Owl to the Bald Eagle. Walk the nature trails. New programs and exhibits coming this summer "The Treehouse" and "Small Wonders".

Live bird programs offered daily at 11 am and 2:30 in the winter; and 11, 1:30 and 3:30 during the summer season.

The VINS Nature Center is open year round.
May 24 to October 31: 10 a.m. to 5:00 p.m;
