Bud Light Bear Mountain Mogul Challenge
This annual competition heats up on Saturday as 200 amateur bumpers take to the slopes of Outer Limits to battle it out for top honors. The top 32 men and 16 women will return to compete in a head-to-head competition on Sunday. Participants run a dual course with sudden death format; only the winners advance. Plus, Olympic Mogul Skier Donna Weinbrecht will be presenting the awards!

Pre-registration is now closed. Spots are still available and will be given on a first come, first serve basis. Registration opens at 7:00 a.m.
The first 200 prepaid registrants will be entered for competition. The cost will be $50 and ift tickets are not included in the entry fee. Competitor lift tickets may be purchased for $70 for a two-day lift ticket; there are no one-day lift ticket options for competitors. All participants of the Bud Light Bear Mountain Mogul Challenge must fill out an Express Assumption of Risk form, save time and fill yours out now. If you are under 18, you will need a parent/guardian to sign your form. All competitors must check-in at the Fuel TV Lounge, 3rd floor of Bear Mountain Lodge, between 7:00-8:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 2 to pick to pick-up competition bibs.
This event is an amateur event and we will not allow A level USSA members to compete, additionally Eastern Qualification Series (EQS) “B” athletes that qualified for EQS Championships are not eligible for this event.
A waiting list will start on Saturday, April 2 at 7:00 a.m. in the Fuel TV Lounge for all non-registered competitors. A drawing will take place for unclaimed bibs. You must be present to enter your name, also you to need be present at 9:00 a.m. for the drawing of the unclaimed competitors’ bibs.
Rules:
For this competition, all competitors are required to wear helmets. We ask that no alcohol, tents/chairs, animals or coolers be brought on snow. Music and beer will be served in the bar/deck.

Pro Division - Cash Prize
Current freestyle athletes who want to battle it out against some of the country’s top World Cup and NorAm skiers. Open to USSA "A" level skiers.
Legend Division - Cash Prize
Former NorAm, World Cup and top regional freestyle skiers who still love to rip up the bumps.
Judging Criteria:
Males and females are scored separately in each of the age groups. Each Judge can award a maximum of 10 points in the following categories:
- Turns and Line (50%): Quality and variety of well-executed turns while staying as close as possible to the fall line.
- Air (25%): Quality of upright aerial maneuvers executed spontaneously in the fall line. Inverts are strictly prohibited.
- Speed (25%): Speed score will be based on a male and female pacesetter’s time.
The purpose of the Mogul Challenge is to recognize technical superiority and athletic ability, not reward out-of-control skiing.
Elimination Rounds:
On Saturday, at 10:00 a.m. each competitor will get one run. Competitors will start in competition bib order. Prizes will be awarded at 4:30 p.m. to the first, second and third place winners in each category.
The top 32 men and 16 women will return to compete in the finals on Sunday, pairings for Sunday’s first run will be arranged tennis tournament style.
On Sunday, at 11:00 a.m. pairs of competitors will run a dual course with sudden death elimination until only the winners remain. Awards will be presented to the first, second, third and fourth place overall male and female winners. The 1st – 4th place winners’ names will be engraved on the Bear Mountain Mogul Challenge trophy.
Live Music:
Some of Killington’s all-time favorite bands will be jamming out on the Bear Mountain deck during Saturday’s competition.
