Calling all college students - Collegiate Snowfest will be filled with nightly off-hill activities and parties for college students. Students will receive discounts at restaurants, nightclubs and retail shops along the Killington Access Road! Our two week Collegiate Snowfest kicks off with the Collegiate Winter Games!

Our two week Collegiate Snowfest kicks off with the Collegiate Winter Games! Think you have what it takes to be the best? In this week-long event, college students will compete in a series of events including Alpine Pursuit, King of the Mountain and Cardboard Derby. College ID is required to participate.

Collegiate Headquarters

The Collegiate Winter Games Headquarters is free to enter with College ID and is a great place to relax, listen to music and hang out with other college kids. The Headquarters is located on the third floor of Snowshed Lodge and is open daily, January 2-6, 2012 from 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

Registration

All events are FREE to enter, a valid College ID is required. Be sure to stop by the Collegiate Headquarter to sign up.

Prizes

We have tons of prizes to give away like skis, snowboards, boots, helmets, headphones and of course, tons of Monster Energy Drink and Muscle Milk!

Tuesday, January 3

Alpine Pursuit- An All-Mountain Scavenger Hunt

The Alpine Pursuit is a resort wide adventure hunt for teams of three to four skiers and/or riders. Each member of your team must be a Blue Square or above skier/rider to enter this event.

Results

1st place The Drunk Girls, University of Massachusetts Amherst
2nd place The Camper Mongoose, McGill University
3rd place Team Arrow to the Knee, Penn State University

Wednesday, January 4

King of the Mountain Skilled Race

Just like in the movie “Out Cold,” participants will ski or ride around the gates on a medium skilled race course while carrying a cup filled with Monster Energy Drink. Contestants will be judged equally on time and the amount of Monster Energy left in their cup.

Sled Building Party

Come build your sled for tomorrow’s Cardboard Derby at Collegiate Headquarters from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Enjoy Monster Energy Drink and FREE pizza. We’ll provide all the materials; all you have to do is bring the creativity!

Thursday, January 5

Cardboard Derby

This event challenges student teams to piece together and construct a homemade sled, then race down the mountain. This event awards creativity, function and design. Teams will race crafts on a moderate course. Crafts must be constructed using only limited materials such as cardboard, tape, zip ties and paint. Teams will be judged on artistic merit, technical innovation, school spirit and race result.

Saturday, January 7, 2012

The Wobbly Barn is the host of the official Collegiate Snowfest Monster Party, featuring the music of Monster Energy's DJ Prime spinning mixes and tossing out great Monster swag throughout the night. Doors open at 8:00 p.m. and the first 100 through the door get Monster beanies. Additionally, the Monster girls will be on hand as well as a raffle with great prizes including lift tickets to Killington Resort.

In addition to the Monster Energy Party (Jan 7), Collegiate Snowfest will be filled with nightly off-hill activities and parties for college students! Students will receive discounts at restaurants, nightclubs and retail shops along the Killington Access Road.
