Pond Skimming Rules:
- There will be a mandatory competitors' meeting at the top of the pond at 10:45 a.m.
- Please remove all valuables (jewelry, watches, sunglasses, etc.) prior to your skim. Killington will not be held responsible for any items lost in the pond.
- No ski poles or nudity
- The event starts at 11:00 a.m. and competitors run in bib order. Don’t be late or you will not get your turn to skim the pond. Once the event starts, it runs very quickly, so be ready even if you have a high number.
- If you fall into the pond on your skim please do not try to walk out of the pond. Wait for our staff to pull you out and get you to the reinforced exit area. Following this procedure will help us to ensure the pond does not rip and drain out prematurely.
-
You will be automatically disqualified if you do not follow these rules.

About the bands
The Deadbeats
Based in New Paltz, NY, The Deadbeats have been one of the hardest working bands in the northeast since their inception in 1993. Their Grateful Dead/Phish inspired shows are a celebration of improvisational, jamming rock & roll. They can be found on the road, performing consistently five to six nights a week, up and down the east coast.
As a result, they have amassed a large - and loyal following of fans who appreciate the open ended, participatory nature of their performances. Working without a net, their set lists, arrangements and jams are all left open to the inspiration of the particular moment, drawing in the crowd as active participants in the creative process rather than just spectators.
iS
An unusual, three piece jam band that delivers live performances to electrify audiences. The bands name, which loosely means “the present tense”, emphasizes their improvisational nature. Each show offers a unique experience that includes diverse, memorable songs and exceptional musicianship.
iS has a distinctive, exciting style; a high energy form of music that combines insightful songwriting, soulful vocals and dynamic jams. iS unites its audience in a moving, musical experience while accomplishing an incredibly full sound with only three members.
Knot Dead
A four piece string band, performing covers from bluegrass, folk and jam band (plenty of Grateful Dead) music mixed with some original pieces. They continue to deliver a fun, energetic and passionate live performances over and over again.
