This is the most significant capital spent since Powdr Corp purchased Killington Resort and Pico Mountain in 2007. It’s been a wild ride and we couldn’t be happier as spring rolls over the mountain with more good times in store. That’s right, it ain’t over ‘til it’s over, and we’re going out big with a bonus weekend of skiing and riding off Killington Peak, Skye Peak AND Snowdon Mountain, not to mention ticket deals, barbecuing and bands!
Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, we’ve got an events lineup hot and fresh out the kitchen with pond skimming, reggae and races galore. Superstar’s spinning until 5:00 p.m. every night, too.

Spring Operations Update from Mike Solimano

I wanted to give everyone an update on our plans for spring. We have had a great year with the recent natural snow combined with our extensive snowmaking, so are really set up for an amazing spring. With that said, business levels and warming spring temperatures require us to start reducing our operating mode as we move forward.
Bud Light Bear Mountain Mogul Challenge Returns to Killington for 32nd Year
Posted March 29, 2013
Killington Resort brings back the Bud Light Bear Mountain Mogul Challenge as part of Killington’s NOR’BEASTER spring celebration with 200 amateur mogul skiers tackling the steepest, longest mogul run in the East April 6-7.
Earlier this season, we promised to bring back the old Killington. Our goal was to bring back events that our guests truly enjoy; we hope all of our guests appreciate the return of the Bud Light Bear Mountain Mogul Challenge Weekend.
Is it Winter or Spring? Either way, Party On.

The saying goes, “March roars in like a lion and out like a lamb”. From snowmaking to snow storms, March has dropped 42 inches of snow and topped off our total to 200 inches so far!
And that’s just the beginning; we’re 100% open with 71 miles of steeps, trees, bumps, parks and more! That’s like skiing or riding the entire length of the Long Island Expressway. Needless to say, Killington has the most open mileage in the East. With all this snow, it’s looking like The Beast will roar into May, conditions permitting.

According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, the definition of “inspire” is the following, “to influence, move, or guide by divine or supernatural inspiration”. Back in 2011, after ski halfpipe and slopestyle was added to the 2014 Winter Olympics, Killington Resort was inspired by Killington freeskiing local and more importantly, 2014 Winter Olympic hopeful, 19 year old Dan Rosenblum - current member of Killington Resort’s Park Team.

Joe Swensson grew up in Niantic, CT, but his heart has been in Vermont since skis were placed on the bottom of his feet at age two. At the young age of six, Joe had his heart set on freestyle skiing with a focus on moguls. Whether it was fate or not, because of his age, Joe’s only option was to join the Alpine Racing Program at Killington – which was the beginning of a long road of hard work, dedication and ultimately success in Ski Cross.
