New Snow + Snowmaking = Awesome Conditions
Posted January 17, 2013
What do you get when you mix a few inches of fresh snow and tons of snowmaking together at Killington? Really good – wait, make that awesome – conditions to ski and ride on. Mother Nature dropped three inches of new snow on Killington Wednesday and our hardworking snowmakers have been working around the clock to cover the peaks in white gold just for you.
Ok, let’s talk snowmaking: the guns are blazing on some of your favorite trails like Lower Cascade, Lower Ovation, Bittersweet, Skyeburst, Upper Wildfire, Frolic and Snowshed Slope. As long as the temperatures stay low, our snowmakers will continue to make snow – so be sure to thank our snowmakers when you see them, they’re the best!
If you’re into the park scene, we have over 65 features waiting for you to hit in The Stash, Timberline with a sweet Minipipe along with the Easy Street Progression Park.
Besides the great skiing and riding, this weekend kicks off National Safety Awareness Week, January 19-27. For those who don’t rock a helmet yet, we have a sweet deal for you: buy a helmet at any Killington Sports locations January 19-27 and we’ll give you a FREE 2012-13 lift ticket valid any day for the rest of the season starting January 28. We’re also focusing on the skier and rider Responsibility Code, one of the seven points is to ski inbounds. So when you’re ripping it up at Killington, please ski and ride within the ski area boundary at all times.
So get ready for a weekend to remember fantastic conditions, live music, snowmobile tours and beyond, and be sure to check out the Conditions Report for the latest updates. Key lifts are scheduled to open at 8:00 a.m. through Monday, January 21.
See ya on the slopes!
