Snowmaking on Lower Double Dipper & more!
Posted January 3, 2013
Happy 2013! Killington Resort has kicked off the New Year with over three feet of new snow (three feet!), new trails (we’re skiing in the trees and making turns on Outer Limits), a new park will open (hint: it’s an all-natural terrain park) and new lift opening times! Starting Saturday, January 5 through the remainder of the 2012-13 winter season, key lifts will open at 8:00 a.m. on weekends and peak days. If you haven’t already, now would be a good time to cheer.
It only gets better (really), the low temperatures are sticking around and so is snowmaking. Drum roll please…we’re making snow on Lower Double Dipper, Upper Ovation, Lower Ovation, Outer Limits and Timberline! 2013 is truly starting off with a bang!
Have you started to make your weekend plans yet? Well, what are you waiting for?
You should also know that The Stash, Killington’s all-natural terrain park on Bear Mountain will debut Saturday. Plus, we’re still rocking the Mouse Run terrain park on Snowdon Mountain with 21 features and three jumps.
Our groomers are set to hit the trails overnight this weekend and plan to lay down some smooth corduroy all the way down to Skyeship Base – that's more the 3,000 vertical feet of fresh grooming that will be waiting for you. Looking for some sweet cruisers? Steeps? Parks? Natural bumps? How about ducking into the woods for some tree skiing? Think six peaks with all the above served by 20 open lifts to access the terrain. Skiers and riders can expect first chair on key lifts at 8:00 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Yep, it’s shaping up to be another incredible weekend at Killington, see ya on the slopes!
Lift tickets will be $88 for adults (19-64), $75 for seniors (65+) and $68 for youths (7-18). Be sure to check out the Conditions Report for the latest information regarding operating hours, trail, lift and weather information or check out photos to see what the conditions look like.
