More terrain, more terrain parks!

Rosey, Corey, Josh and the entire park crew are busy prepping the Timberline Terrain Park for Saturday’s opening. Right now they are planning from 12-15 Small and Medium-sized features, including jumps, rails and boxes. The Mouse Run Terrain Park will drop to 20 features Friday as two of the small boxes are being moved to Timberline.

We are currently making snow on the main portion of The Stash and Corey will be up there early next week behind the controls of a BR 350 grooming machine pushing snow around so the boys can move in with hand tools and prep it for opening sometime late next week.

We hope to have up to 90 trails served by 18 lifts for the Holiday Weekend. Here is the terrain and lift plan for the next week:

Bear Mountain opens Friday with the Skye Peak Express serving the following trails:
- Skyeburst
- Gateway
- Bearly
- Bear Claw
- Lower Wildfire – Opens Saturday
*Please note that there will be NO beginner access from top of Killington Peak to Bear Mountain as Bear Trax will feed into the Bear Claw (A More Difficult Blue Square trail). We hope to have beginner access sometime late next week with Bear Trax feeding into Bear Cub and the Sunrise area.

Skyeship opens Saturday along with the Skyeship Express Gondola. Great Eastern Trail will be open down to the Skyeship base. In the last Insider post, I mistakenly noted that Home Stretch would be open. Unfortunately, Home Stretch will not be open this weekend.

We’re planning to move snowmaking into the Sunrise Mountain area sometime early next week and hope to have it open for New Year’s Weekend. Then we’ll move snowmaking onto other areas, such as Upper Wildfire, Outer Limits, Double Dipper and Downdraft. However, all this is based upon weather and snow conditions and is subject to change. Good news though as the weekend forecast look promising for significant snowfall!

Happy Holidays!

Have you been out on the hill and seen the actual snow that is being made? Wat to much water it is pure ice. We have had the most perfct snowmaking weather yet they are just blowing pure water and making glazed ice. The only thigs that ere even safe to ski are the natural snow trails. It is time to open Outer limits!

Ana's Empanadas at Needles Eye is a GREAT addition! I discovered them today late into my first day at K this season. Excellent food - I recommend to everyone....
