Seeded Moguls and Snowmaking Tests Continue

Looking for moguls this weekend? Head to Lower Vertigo where seeded moguls are now set.

Groomers set three lines on Thursday night. The middle line is starting to ski in; however, the left and right lines need some hard-core bump skiers to carve them in. Looking at this weekend’s forecast with sunshine and warming temperatures, we should see some nice zipper lines.

Looking for natural bumps? Lower Ovation, Conclusion, Upper Needle’s Eye, Vertigo Headwall, Devil’s Fiddle and skier’s right on Outer Limits and are among the many trails with moguls.

Snowmaking Tests Continue

Killington Resort, in partnership with Efficiency Vermont, is testing three types of snow guns in a head-to-head comparison of energy usage and overall production. Snow guns from HKD, Techno-Alpin and Bachler are currently being tested near the base of the Snowdon Quad.

“We’re always looking at comparative testing of equipment from different manufactures,” said Jeff Temple, Killington’s director of mountain operations. “This type of testing, under a variety of conditions, has been ongoing with Efficiency Vermont for the past few years as we continue to push snowmaking technology.”
