Our FreeAire Economizer Systems installed on nine of our walk-in coolers and freezers here at the resort continue to pay huge environmental rewards. The system works by tapping into the greatest source of refrigeration ever created: Winter.

Once again, we can’t thank our snowmaking crew enough for the hard work and long hours they have put in so we can ski and ride this weekend at Killington. But, there is no time to rest as we’ll take advantage of every opportunity to make snow and offer our guests skiing and riding at Killington! In fact, as soon as the temps fall tonight, we’ll fire up the snow guns.

With more than 100 wheels spinning in the bottom terminal alone, the K-1 Gondola is not only a marvel of engineering, but one of the fastest ways to enjoy thousands of vertical feet of skiing in any given day.

Thanks to the power of the world’s most extensive snowmaking system and some cold temperatures, we’ll be skiing and riding Friday and Saturday at Killington Resort. In fact, we will take advantage of every opportunity to offer our guests early-season skiing and riding at Killington! Sunday’s operational status is pending weather and snow conditions.

Killington will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday with four trails, served by the K-1 Express Gondola and the Northridge Triple Chair. Our mountain ops team is working hard to provide top-to-bottom access, however, some walking may be required on the lower portion of the mountain. So we ask that you enjoy the Northridge area and only return to the base when necessary.

Thanks to a two degree drop in forecasted temperatures our snowmaking crew was able to push the production limits of the world’s most extensive snowmaking system last night and set us up for some outstanding opening-day conditions.

Thursday Snowmaking, Operational Update

Snowmaking continues on Killington Peak and Snowdon Mountain with more than 100 snow guns in operation. At this time we are evaluating our production progress and will announce on Friday at 10 a.m. the operational status for this weekend for providing top-to-bottom skiing off Killington Peak with lift service provided by the K-1 Gondola.
Wednesday Snowmaking Update

Snowmaking is currently underway on seven trails in the Northridge and Snowdon areas with more than 190 guns in operation, 93 percent of which are Low Energy guns.
