Chevy U.S. Snowboarding Grand Prix

** Due to fog Saturday night, the Halfpipe finals of the Chevy U.S. Snowboarding Grand Prix will take place at 2:30 p.m. Sunday following the Slopestyle competition. The men kick off the Slopestyle at 8:30 a.m., followed by the women at 11:30 a.m. with a best of two-run format. **

Killington Resort will host more than 100 of the world's best snowboarders, including Olympians and World Champions battling for more than $130,000 in cash and prizes, at the finals of the Chevy U.S. Snowboarding Grand Prix at Bear Mountain March 15-16. The event will be broadcast on NBC March 29th at 2:00 p.m. EDT.

The Chevy U.S. Snowboarding Grand Prix offers one of the largest overall purses in snowboarding, with prizes totaling more than $300,000, including a new Chevrolet truck awarded to the overall halfpipe champions at Killington. In addition, the Killington Grand Prix event is a Five-Star rated Swatch TTR World Tour event. Killington's 430-foot long Superpipe, featuring 18-foot walls, will host the Halfpipe competition on Saturday, March 15. The Paul Mitchell Progression Session Slopestyle will take place on Sunday, March 16 on Bear Mountain's Bear Claw Trail on a course built by Planet Snow Designs, which has designed courses for the Olympics, X Games and U.S. Open.

All events are free to the public for viewing and the finish area for both events is an easy hike from the lodge. Lift tickets will be available at regular rates for those wishing to ski or ride over the weekend.

Volunteers are needed to help staff the Grand Prix from March 10 - 16, 2008. Jobs range from on snow and on skis to more stationary and indoor jobs. Volunteers will receive a voucher to return to Killington for a day of skiing for every four hours worked. (valid Sunday – Friday, non-holiday, until 1/16/09).
