Hopefuls Program (6-12 years)

The Hopefuls Program is a season-long, full-day recreational program that exposes kids ages 6-12 to competitive on-snow disciplines. Hopefuls Program participants must be intermediate level or above skiers/riders and committed to full season attendance. The One-Day Hopefuls Program takes place on Saturdays and select holidays, while the two-day program takes place Saturdays and Sundays and select holidays.

One-Day Hopefuls Program (22 total days)

Participants will enjoy the fun, social nature of skiing and riding, while exploring Killington’s vast terrain and world-class terrain parks. Kids will be grouped with the same friends and coaches each week, while participating in theme weeks, fun races, BBQs and skiing/riding at Pico Mountain on select days. The one-day program is designed as a stepping stone towards participation in two-day Hopefuls Program.

Two-Day Hopefuls Program (39 total days)

The two-day program is geared toward the more serious athlete who is working toward a competitive track and advancement into future alpine and snowboard freestyle programs, such as those offered by the Killington Mountain School. Kids will be grouped with the same friends and coaches each week and, while still focusing on fun, exposed to alpine and freestyle techniques, training and competition. Some local travel to Pico races and competitions will also take place. Killington Ski Club membership is also included in the cost of the two-day Hopefuls Program.

The Hopefuls Program does not include lunch and participants must be supervised by parents or a guardian during the lunch period. The program starts each morning at 8:30 am and meets at the Alpine Training Center.  Lunch is scheduled from 11 am to noon and the program ends at 2:30 pm. Hopefuls Program begins Dec. 6, 2008 through April 5, 2009. A season pass or daily lift pass is required. Helmets are required for all Hopefuls participants.
