Killington Mountain Signature Chefs 2008

This March of Dimes benefit celebration is a prelude to the seasonal revelries at the Killington Grand Resort. Distinguished chefs create dazzling cuisine for this exclusive culinary extravaganza. Enjoy cocktails at 5 pm followed by a Dining Extravaganza by Vermont Top Chefs starting at 6 pm. A brief program including a live auction will feature dining, lodging, ski, golf and jewelry packages donated by local restaurants, resorts and businesses. Dance to the sounds of EnerJazz, the region’s most celebrated big band from 8 – 10pm. This event takes place at the Oscar Wilde Ballroom in the Killington Grand Hotel. Attire is semi-formal and tickets are $75 pp or $120 a pair.

Rails to Riches Rail Jam

Rails to Riches The $15,000 Rails to Riches Rail Jam for skiers and snowboarders at Killington kicks off the events season in style. The competition is held under the lights with a blazing bonfire and don’t miss the after-party. Online registration will be open starting on November 13, 2008 at 8:00 p.m. eastern standard time and will close after the full allotment of 25 riders and 25 skiers has been reached or at 11:59 p.m. on December 3, 2008, whichever comes first. Schedule: 8:00 – 9:30 a.m. Bib pickup (skiers and riders) K-1 Lodge 10:00 – 10:30 a.m. Practice for Riders 10:30 a.m. – Noon Rider Qualifier Jam 11:00 a.m. – Noon Bib pickup (skiers only) K- 1 Lodge 12:30 – 1:00 p.m. Practice for Skiers 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. Skier Qualifier Jam 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. Skier and Rider Jam Finals

Entry fee is $60 for male and $30 for female. Discounted lift tickets available for participants at $35.

The top male skiers and top male riders, along with the top female skiers and top female riders will advance to the finals. The venue will be set up on the lower potion of Highline. The finals will take place under the lights and consist of an hour-long open jam session. Winners will be crowned at the conclusion of the rail jam. The top prize for both male categories is $4000, with $1000 going to each of the first place women skiers and riders.
