Updates on snowmaking, race camps, rental options, & more

The Waiting Game Is On

Though we're firmly in the "quiet before the storm" portion of the year, it never really stays too quiet here at The Beast. Even as our lifts haven't spun for a few days, our snowguns have stayed active, as we took advantage of another chilly snowmaking window this past Tuesday. Though temperatures weren't prime this time on Superstar, we still were able to turn on 135 snowguns around our North Ridge area, continuing to pave the way towards Opening Day. Each timeframe of cold temps helps us inch closer to winter, and although we still don't have a date to share for Day One of skiing and riding, the next long cold snap could always be the one that pushes us over the line. As always, our Mountain Report will have the latest on our next moves, including the potential for some more snowmaking this weekend.

Stifel Killington Cup

The countdown continues towards this year's Stifel Killington Cup presented by Dunkin', as we are now just under a month away! In case you missed the news, Vermont's own Paula Moltzan became the oldest woman to win her first Alpine skiing World Cup race at last Saturday's season-opening giant slalom in Sölden, Austria. Many congratulations to Paula, who continues to have a great year after winning an Olympic bronze in this past winter's team combined event. If you want to see Olympians like Paula Moltzan, Mikaela Shiffrin, and more from both the U.S. and abroad, they'll be racing down Superstar once again this Thanksgiving weekend! Grab your tickets today and start planning around all the weekend's festivities, including concerts, fireworks, and more.

Volunteer for the Stifel Killington Cup

Looking to experience the Stifel Killington Cup presented by Dunkin' from a new perspective this year? Consider joining the Beast Crew, our valued team of over 350 volunteers that continue to help this great event run smoothly. Currently, we are searching for additional course slippers, a role that requires an expert level of skiing but provides volunteers with an unforgettable vantage point of the races. Slippers are an essential part of the weekend, and this is a great opportunity for a closeup look at race proceedings for any dedicated ski racing fans out there. Other volunteer perks include complimentary lunches, a signature Beast Crew jacket, and much more. For anyone who is interested, make sure to check out our FAQs online and reach out to volunteers@killington.com for more information.

Race Camps

If all this talk of World Cup racing has got you feeling the need for speed, our Race Camps are now available for this upcoming December. Designed for intermediate to expert skiers ages 18 and up, our Mountain Sports coaches will use a combination of on-hill training and video analysis to help sharpen your turns and build your confidence on the racecourse. Offered as a five-day camp on December 7-11 or a two-day camp on December 12-13, each option offers five hours of daily coaching plus a commemorative gift. Learn more about both Race Camp options and lock in your spot in the starting gates today!
