Big CapEx updates
Exciting times are ahead, Beast fans!
In case you missed our Resort & Community Update this evening, we have plenty to share! Entering our third year of independence, we're committing another $15 million towards capital improvements, adding up to a total of $80 million in infrastructure upgrades since fall of 2024. We're also looking ahead in a big way, as our estimated capital expenditures in the next decade will total an additional $200 million. Of course, all this investment will go a long way, and we have a detailed breakdown for you all, including some exciting projects that are coming down the line during the next ten years. For the full story, check out our latest Insider Blog.
K-Days Passes & K-Ticket Vouchers
Time is running out to grab our most affordable lift ticket options! K-Days Passes offer our lowest per-day rate for 2, 3, or 4 days at any time this upcoming winter, while K-Ticket Vouchers offer similar savings but with the ability to transfer lift access to friends or family. Learn more about each and get yours while you can—K-Days Passes are only available this season through 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, October 15, while K-Ticket Voucher prices are only at their best through that same deadline. Not to mention, we're planning on fully taking advantage of the upcoming stretch of below freezing temps this weekend, so Opening Day could be sooner than you think. Mother Nature may even be helping us out with a few flakes of her own! Stay tuned to our Mountain Report for the latest.
Stifel Killington Cup Update
The countdown continues towards the return of the Stifel Killington Cup, starting in just 43 days (!) over Thanksgiving weekend. In case you didn't hear the big news, despite stepping back from some slalom races this season, Mikaela Shiffrin will be in the start gate for both the slalom and giant slalom races at The Beast! Joining her will be the familiar faces of many of the world's best alpine racers, including UVM grad Paula Moltzan and recent Olympic medalists like Camille Rast and Sara Hector. Plus, we have big news coming next week regarding our live music lineup, with four separate musical acts taking the stage throughout the weekend. As always, we'll have everything you need to know right in next week's Drift newsletter.
Bike Park Update
Not to look too far ahead, we still have our last two fall weekends ahead of us in the Bike Park. First up, we're spinning both Ramshead and Snowshed this Friday, October 16 through Sunday, October 18 from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. While the lifts weren't spinning this week, our Trail Crew was hard at work putting some finishing touches on their top-to-bottom refresh of Step It Up! Be sure to check the Mountain Report for the latest updates. If you plan on joining us this Saturday or Sunday to say goodbye to Ramshead for the season, make sure to bundle up: As mentioned before, temperatures look to be dipping into the 20s and 30s around the mountain. Check out deals on outerwear from Killington Sports at Route 4 or Snowshed this weekend if you need the extra layer! To close out the season, our last Bike Park weekend of the year will be on Snowshed from Friday, October 23 through Sunday, October 25.
Haunt & Harvest Weekend
Halloween is just a couple weeks away, but there's plenty of ways to get into the holiday spirit this weekend in our community. First up, the Salmeri Haunted House, dedicated to beloved community member Robert "Sal" Salmeri, will take place this Friday, October 16 through Sunday, October 18, featuring a kid-friendly session on Saturday afternoon plus additional activities during the weekend. Next, Killington Parks & Recreation is hosting their sixth annual Trunk-or-Treat on Saturday, October 17, an afternoon for children of all ages to trick-or-treat in a safe, welcoming environment. Killington Mountain Bike Club's annual Haunted Hillside Member Appreciation event will also take place on Saturday, October 17, featuring a scavenger hunt where lucky entrants will take home some fantastic prize packages. Finally, the Wonderfeet Kids’ Museum is hosting a “Truck or Treat” on Sunday, October 18. Come say hi during the afternoon, as one of The Beast’s grooming tractors will be on display!
See you on the trails!
