Killington Resort's Daily Report

What’s up, Beast fans?

While most of our seasonal operations wrapped up on October 12, we’ve still got a few more adventures in store before we shift gears to winter! Calling all mountain bikers: We’ve got two final Bike Park weekends on the calendar, so there’s still time to sneak in a few more laps on two wheels before we call it a season.

Tomorrow’s forecast is bringing some wet weather our way, with temperatures starting in the low 40s before climbing into the 50s. Mother Nature may even have a few of what we like to call “underdeveloped snowflakes” in the mix, so bundle up, layer wisely, and check back in the morning for any operational updates.

The wait is almost over! Ramshead and Snowshed Express lifts reopen tomorrow, Friday, October 16, with lifts spinning from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. through Sunday, October 18. For our final Bike Park weekend of the season, October 23–25, Snowshed will be the only lift in operation.

Even this late in the season, our Trail Crew is still showing the Bike Park some serious love! The Snowshed pod is perfect for finding your flow, while Ramshead delivers more technical riding from top to bottom, including fan-favorite Black Magic. Add a little airtime with those fall foliage views as your backdrop, and you’ve got a pretty sweet way to wrap up the riding season.

While the Bike Park takes its midweek breather, our Trail Crew is tackling work on the middle section of Step It Up to keep things fresh for the final weekends of riding. Due to tomorrow’s wet weather, this section will remain closed but is expected to reopen Saturday. Keep an eye on future Mountain Reports and our Lifts and Trails Status Page for the latest updates as the weekend approaches.

Looking to stretch your legs beyond the bike trails? Hiking trails remain open, with the exception of trails A, C, E, F, and J, which are closed following the end of K-1 Gondola operations. The foliage is still putting on a colorful show, making this a beautiful time to explore The Beast on foot. Be sure to follow all posted construction signage and check out our hiking map before heading out.

Ready to upgrade your ride? Rocky Mountain Slayer rental bikes are now available for purchase at the Snowshed Rental Shop for $1,650 plus tax, with sizes S–XL available. Bike buyers can also score 25% off select ski and snowboard demos! Stop by the shop and chat with one of our rental techs for more details.

Spooky season is in full swing, and we’ve got a weekend lineup packed with family-friendly Halloween fun! The Salmeri Haunted House returns October 16–18 for a weekend of frights. Got a costume ready and a sweet tooth to satisfy? Head to Killington Parks & Recreation’s Trunk-or-Treat this Saturday, October 17, for some trick-or-treating fun. Then, keep the spooky adventures going at the Haunted Hillside Scavenger Hunt, where you can hunt for clues and enter to win raffle prizes!

Last but certainly not least, the Stifel Killington Cup returns to Superstar November 27–29! The world’s fastest women alpine ski racers will soon be back at The Beast, bringing world-class racing, live music, and thousands of East Coast ski fans along for the ride. Don’t miss the action—grab your tickets now for our biggest event of the year!

See you on the mountain, Beast fans!
